2025 Ford Super Duty vs. 2025 Ram 2500
Compare the 2025 Ford Super Duty® to the 2025 Ram 2500
If you're shopping for a powerful heavy-duty truck that can handle your toughest jobs, you're likely considering the 2025 Ford F‑250 Super Duty and the 2025 Ram 2500. Both offer impressive towing strength, modern features, and worksite-ready capability-but they go about it in different ways. At Crouse Ford, we're here to break down the details so you can choose the truck that fits your life best.
Towing Power
When properly equipped, the 2025 Ford F‑250 Super Duty can tow up to 23,000 lbs. conventionally and offers up to 4,246 lbs. of payload capacity. This power is made possible by the available high-output 6.7L Power Stroke® turbo diesel engine, which delivers up to 500 horsepower and 1,200 lb.-ft. of torque.
The 2025 Ram 2500 is no slouch, offering up to 20,000 lbs. of towing capacity and a payload rating of up to 4,420 lbs. when properly equipped with the available high-output Cummins® turbo diesel engine. However, Ram's towing numbers fall short of what the Ford F‑250 is capable of. The 2025 Ford F‑250 Super Duty is built for serious towing. If you need maximum trailer capacity, it's the better choice.

Powertrain Options
Ford gives you four engine options on the 2025 Super Duty, including two gas and two diesel choices: The 6.8L V8 gas engine produces 405 horsepower and 445 lb.-ft. of torque. The 7.3L V8 gas engine bumps that up to 430 horsepower and 485 lb.-ft. of torque. On the diesel side, the 6.7L Power Stroke® V8 delivers 475 horsepower and 1,050 lb.-ft. of torque, while the high-output version increases that to 500 horsepower and 1,200 lb.-ft.
Ram offers two engines for 2025. The 6.4L HEMI® V8 gas engine produces 410 horsepower and 429 lb.-ft. of torque, while the available 6.7L Cummins® turbo diesel makes up to 430 horsepower and 1,075 lb.-ft. of torque. With more engine choices and more torque across the board, the Ford F‑250 gives you better options for tailoring your truck to your needs.
Interior and Tech
The 2025 Ford Super Duty offers an intuitive, modern cabin layout across all trim levels. Available features include a 12-in. SYNC® 4 touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, and an available 12 in. digital instrument cluster. An optional head-up display and Pro Trailer Backup Assist™ add convenience on and off the job. The 2025 Ram 2500 brings a more luxurious feel in higher trims, especially in the Limited and Longhorn editions. Ram also offers a 14.5 in. touchscreen with its Uconnect® 5 system and available rear air suspension for a smoother ride. While Ram offers luxury appointments, Ford brings more work-friendly features and advanced trailering technology.

Off-Road Capability
If you're heading off the beaten path, both trucks offer serious capability. The Ford F‑250 Tremor Off-Road Package includes 35 in. all-terrain tires, skid plates, off-road tuned suspension, and selectable drive modes like Rock Crawl and Trail Control. Ram counters with its Power Wagon and Rebel trims, which add features like locking differentials, Bilstein® shocks, underbody skid plates, and integrated winches. The Ford F‑250 Tremor holds its own against Ram's Power Wagon and may be better suited for towing while off-road.
