Customer Eligibility

The requirements to enroll in the Ford Mobility Motoring program are:

  • The customer must be the end-user of the Ford model that requires the installation of qualifying adaptive driving, assistance equipment or passenger aid equipment.

  • The end-user can be defined as an organization, church, assisted living facility, nursing home, municipality, city, state or federal government.

  • Claims can be made for adaptive equipment required by a family member of the owner or lessee of an eligible Ford, providing that the equipment permanently is fitted to the Ford model.

Modification And Adaptive Equipment Eligibility

The requirements to have assistance equipment installed in a Ford model are:

  • Make sure that any major structural vehicle modifications - such as the installation of a wheelchair lift or ramp, carriers, hand controls, lifts, parking brakes, power assist seats, steering devices and wheelchair restraints - are done by a Ford-authorized Qualified Vehicle Modifier (QVM), so that the work is eligible for the reimbursement. Be sure to ask our staff at Crouse Ford, your local Ford dealership near Westminster MD, for more information on this.

  • Any raised roof or lowered floor conversions do not meet the eligibility requirements (by themselves).

  • There has to be documentation that shows the mobility adaptive equipment - like a wheelchair lift, ramp or adaptive controls - was indeed installed on the vehicle.

  • Adaptive equipment are defined as devices that will make it easier for people with permanent physical disabilities to drive or be transported in a Ford.
